Today, we’ll learn about the health benefits of hiking. Then, you'll go on your own hike and document the experience. This project will help you understand why Ransom might have enjoyed his walk and how you can incorporate some of these benefits into your own life.
For this project, you will need:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water bottle
- Healthy snack
- Notebook and pen
- Phone or camera (optional)
Project Instructions
Step 1: Research the Health Benefits of Hiking
- Watch the video on the health benefits of walking.
- Watch the short video about the mental health benefits of spending time walking in nature.
Step 2: Plan Your Hike
- Choose a location: Find a local park, nature trail, or any safe area where you can go for a hike.
- Map out your route: Use a map or an app to plan your hiking route. Make sure it's a manageable distance for you, and tell someone where you'll be going.
Step 3: Go on Your Hike
