Serafina lives in the basement of the Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore is one of the largest homes ever built in America, and it was owned by a very wealthy family, the Vanderbilts. This giant mansion has over 250 rooms, including 43 bathrooms! Can you imagine living in a house that big?

The Biltmore took six years to build, and it’s filled with secret passageways, beautiful gardens, and lots of hidden spaces. In Serafina’s story, these secret spots play an important role, and we get to explore them right along with her.
