Project Supplies

You will need the following supplies for projects listed throughout the course. You do not have to complete each project. Choose those you think would be interesting or fun.

Project 1, Plant a Garden

  • Space in your yard that you can use to plant your garden or containers with soil
  • Seeds of plants you want to grow
  • Fertilizer

Project 2, Soup Kitchen

  • Transportation to a soup kitchen
  • To contact a soup kitchen and ask how you can volunteer
  • A great attitude!

Project 3, Duck a l'Orange

  • 2 duck breast halves
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth 
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)
  • 1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Seville orange marmalade, or more to taste
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange zest 
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon reserved duck fat
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour 
  • 1 tablespoon butter
