You will need the following supplies for projects listed throughout the course. You do not have to complete each project. Choose those you think would be interesting or fun.

Project 1, Create a Creature

  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Markers. Colored Pencils, or Crayons
  • Printable worksheet

Project 2, Bird Beaks

· Uncooked Macaroni

· Goldfish Crackers

· M&M® Candies

· Gummy Worms

· Chocolate Sprinkles

Project 3, Build a Compost Bin

· Drill

· Bin

· Dried Leaves, Straw, Sawdust, or Old Newspaper

· Fruit and Veggie Scraps

· Water

· Worms

Project 4, Seed Exploration

  • Variety of food with seeds (apples, oranges, cherries, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers)
  • Bulbs of plants (onion, garlic, tulip, daffodil)
  • Tweezers
  • Magnifying Glass
  • Knife
  • Clear Jar 

Project 5, Flight Experiment:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Optional other items: glue, paperclips, tape, craft sticks, toothpicks, etc.

Project 6, Winter Experiment:

  • Shortening (Crisco, etc.)
  • Plastic Gloves, Ziplock Bags, or Plastic Wrap
  • Iced Water 

Project 7, Migrating Comic:

  • The Comic Strip in the lecture
  • Pencils, Markers, Crayons, or whatever you choose to use to draw
