You will need the following supplies for projects listed throughout the course. You do not have to complete each project. Choose those you think would be interesting or fun.

Project 1, Follow The Pattern

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Imagination
  • Download of pattern of "The Red Wheelbarrow"


Project 2, Draw the dog

  • Paper
  • Drawing utensils (pencil, colored pencils, markers, watercolors, paints, etc.)
  • One of the poems from one of the Waxing Poetic sections

Project 3, Translations

  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • A Poem
  • Magazine or Newspaper

Project 4, Shaping a Poem

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser

Project 5, Tape it to The Wall

  • Heavy paper like card stock or poster board
  • Pencils, Pens, Colored Pencils, Markers or Watercolors
  • Your favorite poem

Project 6, Write a Letter-Poem

  • Paper
  • Pencil

Project 7, Brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
