Before we get started, reading a comic is a little different than reading other books. If you aren't familiar with reading graphic novels, then watch the video below to get some quick tips.

Read:

Maus I

• Chapter 1
• Chapter 2
• Chapter 3

Write:

• As you are reading, write down any sentences or paragraphs that you like or have special meaning to you in your journal.
• Pay attention to any words or phrases you don't understand and write them in your journal. Look up the meanings of these words.

Learn:

• This week, you will be learning about "Allusion". Add the definition of allusion to your notebook.
• Add any examples of allusion that you find to your notebook.
