Zoom Etiquette
Let’s go over some important rules to make our Zoom classes awesome for everyone. Think of these as our classroom “cheat codes” for having a great time together!
- Set Up Your Space: Make sure you’re in a quiet spot with good light, and have your supplies ready. Make sure to change the name on your Zoom profile to your name and not your mom or dad’s.
- Dress for Success: You don’t need anything fancy, but let’s wear something you’d be okay with wearing in public. Remember, our teatimes are recorded, so you’re favorite pjs may make it into someone’s home thousands of miles away.
- Be Punctual: Try to log in to Zoom a couple of minutes early.
- Mute is Your Friend: Keep your mic muted unless you’re talking. This way, we only hear your awesome thoughts without any extra noise.
- Hand Raising: Got something to say or ask? Click that ‘Raise Hand’ button. It’s your turn to shine when I call your name.
- Stay on the Trail: Keep our chats on topic. Want to chat with your friends about your new book? That’s great, but do it in the chat so we don’t distract others.
- Chat Box: Not feeling like talking out loud? No worries! You can always type your thoughts and questions in the chat box.
- Kindness is Key: Treat everyone with respect, just like we do when we’re together in person.
- Stay 'Til the End: Hang tight until we officially wrap up. Leaving early is like missing the end of a movie!
- Oops! Technical Trouble?: If your computer or internet is being tricky, just let me know. We’ll figure it out together.
- Privacy Please: Remember, no screenshots or recording our class. It’s our special space for making mistakes and learning, just for us.
- Your Thoughts Matter: Got ideas on how to make our Zoom classes even cooler? I’m all ears after class or through email.
- And remember, whether you’re chatting, typing, or just listening, you’re a key part of our class community. Let’s make every Zoom session the best it can be, supporting each other every step of the way. Can’t wait to see you all online!
