Choose a scene from the reading this week to expand on. This could be rewriting it from a different perspective, continuing a line of the story not explored in the book, or even rewriting in a way that changes the outcome.

Here are some suggestions for you to consider if you are having trouble with ideas:

• Rewrite the end of chapter 7 (Clemensia attacked by snakes) from Clemensia's perspective and continue the storyline into what happens to her over the next several days.
• In chapter 2, Coriolanus sees a neighbor, Nero Price, carve the leg from a maid, wrap it up and take it home, presumably to eat it. Write the maid's story. How did she get there? Or rewrite the scene from the perspective of Nero Price and what happens when he gets home with the maid's leg.
